1. HAFTUNGS-AUSSCHUSS FÜR JOD-INFORMATION

Als medizinischer Laie kann ich selbstverständlich keinerlei Verantwortung übernehmen für die medizinischen Implikationen der Informationen zum Stichwort Jod, die in meiner Homepage enthalten sind. Wie in der Pharma-Werbung, so gilt auch hier das wohlbekannte, wenn auch hier etwas verkürzte Sprüchlein: "Zu Risiken und Nebenwirkungen ... fragen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker." (Leider sind bei weitem nicht alle Ärzte und Apotheker in diesem Punkte einschlägig informiert, sondern viele - zu viele! - folgen mehr oder weniger arglos der pseudo-rheinischen Parole unserer Jod-Lobby: "Jod is' joot.")

2. ALLGEMEINER HAFTUNGS-AUSSCHLUSS FÜR LINKS

Mit Urteil vom 12. Mai 1998 - 3120 85/98 - "Haftung für Links" hat das Landgericht (LG) Hamburg entschieden, dass man durch die Anbringung eines Links die Inhalte der gelinkten Seite ggf. mit zu verantworten hat. Dies kann - so das LG - nur dadurch verhindert werden, dass man sich ausdrücklich von diesen Inhalten distanziert.

Hiermit DISTANZIERE ich mich ausdrücklich von allen rechtswidrigen oder unappetitlichen Inhalten aller fremden Internet-Seiten, auf welche ich, nichts Böses ahnend, von den Seiten meiner Homepage aus durch Links verweise.

Copyright Matters

Why does copyright matter?

Part of my homepage is devoted to teaching and learning material for two scholastic subjects:

English as a foreign language (including English literature)
History (mainly German history, but also a few branches of European and World History)

This material has been collected in more than 30 years of teaching. Some of it is my own invention or development, some of it is based on material that has been contributed (knowingly or unknowingly) by students or fellow teachers. In these cases I feel that copyright problems should not arise. Students and teachers alike may make use of such material, except for commercial purposes.

There is, on the other hand, a considerable portion of material that might infringe the copyright of others. If so, I would kindly invite the copyright holders to contact me (E-Mail Address), so that I can delete that particular material from my site and substitute it by a bibliographic link (to make sure that the source will still be accessible to anybody who is interested in the matter).

If, however, any copyright holders should feel that the publication of their material in the internet is a compliment to its author, and that they agree with its publication on my site, I would like to learn from them nevertheless so that I can display their consent together with the material.
